TAPE no. III - Large - Limited Edition of 20 Photograph

In the reimagining of the human experience in relationship to new environmental adaptation – the mask becomes the symbol of one’s acquiescence to external forces imposed upon the self. I ask, if we must wear a mask, why not wear a mask that reflects the inner world of the true self? In this moment of cultural transference of meaning wrapped in acceptance of the dominate message or as a symbol of resistance to hegemony of that message– the human face itself is a site of political agency. We are beautifully temporary and ultimately reusable. Does this render us as the last organic expression of cultural direction? Cannot the individual become the environment, an entirely new identity– non-toxic– non-human– new material– new texture– new meat?
