ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My work is influenced by the Spanish visual poetry emerged in the 60’s and 70’s of the XX century. My aim is challenging the viewer with an unsolved enigma. The objects intentionally displayed within the frame are turned into new signifiers. They are both iconoclastic -as they transgress their own function- and icons with seemingly magical properties. This work was driven by the conviction that photography as a medium of expression can surpass its own boundaries by embracing other disciplines. If here we can consider photography as a document it is only as the one of the creative process itself. In a way, each image it is the testimony of the final stage of the work and that work could have also been conceived as an artistic installation. Photography: Giclée print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta 325gr acid-free paper. Mounted on black wooded frame of 50x40cm and white passe-partout.
