My name is Cédric Brion, a freelance photographic artist, I was born in 1978 in Belgium, in the suburbs of Mons, where I currently live. I've been involved in the visual arts since I was a teenager, and my passion for photography has been growing for over 25 years. I started photography with a film camera. I then enjoyed developing my many shots in the darkness of my bedroom. Over time, thanks to a wealth of encounters and experiences, I was able to enter the world of professional photography, thanks in particular to a number of successful competitions, as well as various projects for the business world. Self-taught by nature, I've always been particularly interested in new technologies. I began my career in photography by taking landscape photos on various trips to different parts of the world. I particularly liked using various tools to play with light (filters) but also with framing and using a panoramic head. I then moved into portrait photography, setting up my first professional studio in Mons. Once again, I really enjoyed perfecting my various techniques and learning by playing with different light sources. To bring out the best in my subjects, my imagination is truly creative and can go as far as de-signing and staging dramatic atmospheres while creating a scenography that is designed to raise questions and challenges. In order to achieve a result that I consider to be a certain form of perfection, I then like to fi-ne-tune my work in Lightroom and Photoshop to accentuate the details and atmosphere that I wanted to convey through my different sets and stagings. I'm convinced that photography is an art form that requires you to push yourself to the limit, and my photographs reflect my constant desire to innovate. My artistic approach aims to promote the realisation of my passion for photographic art, but also to work so that my different portraits can arouse, in each person, a certain recognition but also, a certain projection. The aim is to create an emotion or a feeling that is unique to each person and that will encour-age them to want to discover more. Inspiration is a complex and marvelous process that requires me to step out of my comfort zone while constantly pushing back my own limits. My desire and constant need to create are two non-stop sources of inspiration that have been with me since my earliest childhood.
