The Fabric of the Landscape II Photograph - Limited Edition of 15

A moody landscape in muted ochre and violet with burnt orange grasses. The original photograph was take on the Island of Mainland Orkney off the north coast of Scotland near the Ring of Brodgar, standing stones from over 5000 years ago. The pools of water near the stones are filled with beautiful reeds and wildlife, glimmering water reflecting a September sky. From the sheep on the land, Orcadians weave beautiful fabrics, texture and landscape combine. In this scene I was particularly in love with the moody violet tones in the sky and vibrant burnt orange and yellows of the reeds in the foreground. I create the digital collage by combining my abstract image made through moving the camera while I take the shot with layers of texture gathered at the same time. I love the way the texture layers create a feeling of fabric in the final piece. This listing is for the canvas version of the print, this would be ideal for float framing. This is a great size for a large wall space in a living room, mezzanine, hallway, office or bedroom. Image size 56 x 56 inches plus a 2 inches white border for handling and using on the sides of your frame. My work is all about the emotional connection we have to a place and the moment in our memory when we felt such intense pleasure looking at a landscape. I travel to remote islands, to unspoilt places and wild rocky coastlines; I love to work in the peace and quiet solitude of these deserted landscapes.
