About The Artwork

The Man is a photo collage I created in 2022. It is part of my on going Skull Project. Here I explore existential questions, absurdity of our human condition, the animality of human beings and raw sexuality. I was determined to create something that would make people think about our place in the universe and our relationship with other species. As humans, we tend to think of ourselves as superior to others and forget that we are really just one animal among many. This realization inspired my art project and I decided to create a work that reminds everyone that we are all part of a whole and that we must respect and coexist with the other form of lives on this earth. I wanted to put the arrogant human in his place and remind him that we are not the only living beings on this planet. So I worked hard to create a piece that would convey these ideas in a poignant way and make people think about their place in the universe. Original Limited Edition Giclée Print on Hahnemühle German Etching Paper. Printed with 1,5cm white border. Signed certificate of authenticity included. Artwork is unmounted, unframed. Rolled and shipped in tube.

Stephane BENITO is a French surrealist and conceptual artist. His work explores existential questions, revelations about the absurdity of our human condition, research into the unknown and the beyond, and plumbs the depths of the endless continuity of matter from one form to another. Born in 1975 in Pau in the south of France, he composed music throughout his adolescence. He then practiced travel photography and portraits, gradually sliding into increasingly conceptual and surreal images. After studying Physics and Chemistry, he learned photography at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts et de la Communication in Pau. His mixed technique combines photography and digital painting, acrylic and collage.
