The Skin I Am In - Limited Edition of 10 Photograph

Silvia Nikolov is a fine art photographer based in Austin, Texas. Intrigued by the concept of photography as a perceptual experience, not as a snapshot of a particular moment in time, each of my photographs is a capture of an intensely personal emotion, a life-long meditation, a dream brought to reality, a story untold before. As a fine art photographer with a passion for conceptual photography, I translate portraits, landscapes, and cityscapes into an abstract form of art. I enjoy manipulating the available physics when engineering each photograph and am in constant search for the light, the shadow, the vibrancy of color, the reflection, the refraction, the symmetry in the asymmetry. My priority is always to achieve and capture all effects in-camera, limiting post processing to enhancing contrast and color. I rely on the use of water, mirrors, glass, and other reflective materials and surfaces in achieving the desired optical illusion.
