"The Tower of Babel" Photograph

My name is Shiva and I am an eclectic and paradoxical cultural mix of Native American, Norwegian, African American and Scottish. I was born in England, to a Scottish mother and American father but currently reside on the Orange Blossom Coast, next to the Mediterranean Sea, near Valencia, Spain. I have found my place of tranquility... Inspired by John Berger at University, my work focuses on the juxtaposition of nature, urbanisation, digital media and cultural fusion, drawing upon influences from within art, cultural theory, philosophy and anthropology. I take the complex and tangible and reduce it to the instinctual and primal, reflecting the conflicted nature of the world we live in. In urban street art, nature, modern architecture, decaying buildings, people and seascapes, I see the eternal beauty of existence. For me, art is holistic and universal; in the future I will explore a variety of mediums and subject matter. I work only when I am inspired, so I will add to my collection, whenever I am able to capture the beauty that catches my eye.
