Born in 1966 in Hampshire (United Kingdom), Liz Garnett and has lived all over the UK as well as Australia and France and is now based outside London in rural Kent. She has been a commercial and art photographer for over 20 years. Currently, Liz is focussing her creative photography on A Creative Pilgrimage. The project includes seven Kent artists who are walking along the Augustine Camino pilgrimage route from Rochester to Ramsgate in Kent, UK. The pilgrims have split the route into smaller walks to allow them time to photograph, sketch and observe the route in more detail. Initially they have been undertaking one to two walks a month. Their journey has been temporarily halted at Painters Forstal just outside Faversham. They will commence their walks in November 2020 after the exhibition of the first half of their journey. Liz is becoming recognised for not only her artistic ability but also her technical knowledge of different films and processes and her ability to push the boundaries of photography. Colour and texture (in black and white) play an important role in her work and inspiration is drawn from architecture, shapes and patterns. Her work is concerned with strong graphic composition with the majority of her fine art images being abstract or semi-abstract. Recent themes have included beaches and the coast in both the UK and France as well as still life and some local landscapes. Liz Garnett’s work has sold internationally and she has been featured in Kent Life, Professional Photographer and Aspect County magazines. Liz has had various roles with Ashford Visual Artists including Chairman and Publicity Officer. She has also been Publicity Officer and Area Co-Ordinator of South East Open Studios. She is also a former co-host on the Girls do Coffee show on Expat Radio. Please join Liz's mailing list if you would like to receive updates on her work and exhibition invites:
