Giacomo D'Aguanno was born in Palermo on 23 July 1961. Since 1987 he has worked as a professional photographer, taking care of advertising, art and reportage photography over the years. At the same time he deals with social issues concerning the city of Palermo, in its most varied aspects, telling stories of marginalization, degradation and silence. He also contributed with his images to the creation of important catalogs and art books, for the Novecento Editions, the Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia Treccani (series, "The places of art"), Silvana Editoriale (catalogs for the GAM of Palermo and for the Sicily Foundation) and for several other publications and catalogs of public and private galleries. Also engaged in the advertising communication sector, he collaborates with agencies for public bodies and private companies.
