About The Artwork

This work employs a classic of modern art paintings: dead nature/still-life and revised it with a digital and conceptual take. I am fascinated by the shapes that dead flowers take once they dry and how different these results can be every single time, and I to make work that celebrates how dead and beauty can embrace each other. I shot a bunch of dried roses I bought previously, in my studio with the idea of making something out of the darkness. I used specific camera settings and a flashgun and just shot without really being able to see the works on the camera. the images were only visible after a post-production stage where I would change the setting and then look at what I captured this is my favourite takes and it is an image that verges towards abstraction which is a very strong element of all my work. The texture is very grainy and with a lost of contrast and gives this low-quality effect

Italian artist based currently in London. Her artistic practice investigates and questions the persuasive power of the image and of the visual language. Her body of work incorporates intimate yet universal experiences such as loneliness, abandonment, fear for emotional nakedness and failure. In touching on these topics, she aims to create a collision between opposite languages: the unreal and the imaginary, the document and the oneiric, the personal memory and the collective, aiming to trigger reactions by invoking primal and visceral emotions. She employs the photographic medium to create visual access to the many different readings of existence. Her work often addresses elements of sexuality, mysticism, body language and nature, to create a tense narrative that provokes and relives at the same time.
