View over Trafalgar Square with the National Gallery, St-Martin’s-in-the-Fields, Nelson’s Column, and the gleaming tall buildings of The City beyond, taken October 2014. Also visible are Waterloo and Blackfriars Bridges with a stretch of the River Thames, and the London Eye, illuminating Shell House behind it with its eerie blue glow. A large orange harvest moon rises behind Heron Tower. It was a rather wet evening but I love the way the wet streets glisten with the reflected sparkle of the street lights, as well as the streaks left by the passing traffic streaming by on a long exposure. This is a view of the very throbbing heart of London, with The Strand, Northumberland Avenue and Whitehall all spiralling off Trafalgar Square like the spokes on a hub of a wheel.
