ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The image: "Waves of light" was taken at Wreck beach in Vancouver, in 2022. Wreck beach has always been my source of inspiration, most of my works of abstract seascape were taken here. Having lived in Sydney, Australia I have a great affinity for Nature, especially the open sea. My works: Creating stillness through motion & feeling evokes in me to express my world on mute - the boundary between photography and painting. I hope to give viewers (and myself) peace of mind. Print information: This is the limited edition of 25 in 12x12 (with a 1.5" border on each side) on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm Professionally printed by a trusted Lab. Signed & numbered by the artist (Please allow us 3-5 business days to print after placing your order.) Other options: I also offer the limited edition of 25 in 10x10, and 20x20. Limited edition of 5 in 30x30. Plexiglass mounting is also available. Please contact curator@saatchiart.com for more details.

Mariko Evans : A self taught photographic artist, based in Vancouver, Canada, born and raised in Japan. Photography has always been her serious hobby since she obtained her first film SLR in 1990. After living/traveling to many places (including her inner world), she strongly reconnected with photography and started photographic services in 2008 in Sydney, Australia, where half her soul still resides. In 2011, she moved to Vancouver and continued to create stillness through motion & feeling evoke in her to express her world on mute - the boundary between photography and painting. She uses little to no Photoshop/post production.
