I am a published writer and photographer. I began taking photographs to accompany articles written for magazines and newspapers using a wonderful old Canon T-90. I used that camera to photograph the work for a book I published on Tibetan Sichuan in 2006 and then switched to digital. Digital had it uses, but I wanted something that would create greater atmosphere without editing with photoshop or other software. I settled on pinhole photography that for me gets close to painting. This format allows me to document the spiritual ambiance of Buddhist locations throughout Asia. For the photographs shown here, I use both commercial and hand made pinhole cameras.
