High resolution digital printing UV inks on white aluminum, satín laquered finish. Aluminum real petimetre frame. This photography belongs to the “available nowhere” exhibition that took place at the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain on the last part of 2016 and the beginning of 2017. Here you can see a bit fromthe catalogue's introduction by Iñaki Bergera: "In Available Nowhere, Azcarate condenses a discourse that is irrefutably –and with great brilliance and autonomy– tied in to echoes of the aforementioned praxes and contemporary contexts. Perhaps also reflecting artists such as Filipa Dujardin, Josefa Schulz and Philipp Schaerer, Azcárate plays at managing to make the real seem virtual and vice versa. As a good architect, Azcárate is equipped with a sensitive formal and compositional virtuosity."

Bilbao, Spain, 1966 PhD Architect and photographer Living and working in Bilbao, teaching architecture in Pamplona Books: -Historia de un sueño, ed. IDOM, 1997 (the story of a dream) -Catedrales Olvidadas. La red nacional de silos en España (1949-1990), ed. T6 y Gobierno de España, 2009 (Forgotten Cathedrals. The national net of silos in Spain (1949-1990). In the first book, I had the opportunity to follow the works of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and it offered me the challenge to explore the incredible changing spaces in this fantastic building during its construction. The second book, as a result of my PhD eventually finished in 2008, reflects a graphic, theoretical and personal interpretation of the silos as fascinating constructions, which were not made by architects. This work is a special kind of tribute to the engineers who created these buildings in particular, and for all the anonymous architecture in general. In this research I counted on the help of my friend and professional photographer Luis Prieto, who interpreted my ideas about the pictures of the silos. I love architecture and photography with a specific and personal perception about the relationship between them. I enjoy feeling the power of abandoned industrial spaces and the capacity for infinite suggestion of the spaces under construction.
