About The Artwork

When I was walking on a beach called a small sand dune, I had to recall memories and relationships with many people. How much do we trust and remember our memories, and what should we value among them? A lot of things flickered like the sand in front of me and eventually flew away in the wind before I could confirm their meaning. It was like walking alone and talking to someone. I feel like I’m in the hustle and bustle while walking on a deserted beach. Even though the strong winds before the typhoon made me feel a little impatient, the distant view blazing with sand led me there. After going through many screens, I arrived at a place called oblivion where I stood still. Print size: The print is 380 mm long by 569 mm wide with a margin around it. The dimensions, including margins, are 500 mm high and 700 mm wide. Lambda print

Recognition of the self and others, this is the theme of my work. Our daily life is full of contrasts. Every difference makes us, yet we like them to be balanced somehow. And everything in this world seems to be harmoniously synched. If two friends are facing each other across the table in a new café, the drawings on the wall they remember may be different. Or, a traveler from the east and a traveler from the west may see different scenery even if they are walking on the same road. Even though the differences are faint, I always think that noticing or misunderstanding them complicates the world. Born in Yokohama, Japan, 1971.
