Artist and designer David Saunders graduated from Chelsea College of Art and assisted Tracey Emin, Mat Collishaw and other Young British Artists before launching fashion and interiors label David David in 2005. His bold geometric prints have since become synonymous with the brand and featured in collaborations with the likes of Fred Perry, Rimowa, Eastpak and Louis Quatorze. A collaboration with furniture designers Glass Hill led to his work being included in the Victoria & Albert Museum's 2012 summer exhibition celebrating 60 years of British design. In 2013 David has been nominated for the Jameel Prize (an international award for contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic tradition, organised by the V&A), and collaborated with Studiomama on a range of chairs nominated for the Design Museum's Designs of the Year 2013.
