The Daybreak Sunup Palace Diorama is inspired by renaissance Roman Architecture. The beautiful high ceiling engraving is framed with decorative luxurious curtains, creating the depth and deep sense of colour. The layers are filled with an abundance of creatures and curiosity from a family of chameleons to the rabbit peering through the table. Historically, the diorama was a scenic painting viewed through a peephole, in which adjustments to colour and the direction of illumination can simulate life-like changes to the artwork. In her modern day take on this fascinating art form, Kristjana captures its essence by adapting her trademark collage technique; designing and printing the individual elements on the highest quality archival paper, before intricately hand cutting them and slotting the pieces into a bespoke frame and layering to create the sense of reality and depth. The result is a stunning three dimensional paper theatre graphic art piece. Printed in our studio in London, using the highest quality archival paper (Matt Smooth Fine Art Cotton 300gsm) and highest quality inks (giclée), to ensure you are able to enjoy your print for years to come. Due to the construction of the dioramas, all dioramas come in specialist frames. The top layer of the artwork is placed between two sheets of non-reflective glass. This piece comes in an edition of 75. Kristjana’s dioramas are sold through many sales channels and some of them sell fast. Therefore we can not guarantee that the next edition is the one you will receive if you buy this diorama. If you would like to know what the next available edition number is, please contact Saatchi Art customer service before placing your order.
