This is an original unframed linocut. I used two blocks for two different colours: light blue and navy blue. And separate little block for red and orange.
It depicts poolbeg / Pigeon House Lighthouse and two chimneys in Dublin

To make this linocut I used sheet of linoleum on which I draw my image. Then I carved the image using chisels and gouges. In linocut technique the uncarved area of the image is printed and the carved parts remain white.
After I finished the carving process I inked the plates with two different blue colours and rolled through the printing press with a sheet of Fabriano paper over it. It left the image impressed onto the paper. The print was then editioned which means a number of identical images were printed. Each print was numbered and signed.
In printmaking the plate or block is defaced after printing the whole edition so that no further images can be made.

Paper size 55x50cm. Edition: 30
printed on Fabriano Rosaspina Bianco 285gsm. It has rough trimmed edges around.
