Initial attempts to transfer such details into larger formats did not satisfy me - I had to change my style and technique too much, so that it had nothing to do with my actual work in the studio. After I let the idea rest for a long time, I began in 2017 to take specific detailed pictures of my works photographically and to digitally reprocess them. In this way I discovered a completely new and fascinating possibility of artistic expression, which has accompanied me parallel to my painting ever since. I leave many of these "macro images" unadulterated, others I work on step by step until the complete reinterpretation of a shot. In this way, numerous independent motifs can be created from a single photograph, each of which telling its own story. As I relate them stylistically more to my experimental work, I sign these works with Julio Fernandez or Raphael König - depending on which works I use as a photographic basis. For the production of my editions, a high-quality printing process on high-quality paper (Sihl Masterclass Textured Matt Cotton 320 g) is used, so that museum quality is a matter of course. While most colour photo papers change their colours under museum conditions after approx. 12-18 years, the predicted durability of the fine art prints I offer under the same conditions is 200 years. This edition comes with a high-quality genuine wooden frame with passe-partout. The use of anti-reflective museum glass, which is 45% UV-resistant and 100% lightfast, gives the work additional protection, which, together with authentication, gives it a value comparable to that of an original artwork. Each fine art print is dated, signed and numbered by me, in addition I sign all framed works additionally on the passepartout. Except for the numbering and the normal deviations in the handwritten notes (signature etc.), the individual pieces are of course identical.
