Happily Married is a digitally edited screenprint mounted onto neon perspex. The piece comprises of two parts that take up roughly, 1800mm x 1800mm, but it up to the viewer the distance between the two pieces and how they are hung. The two separate pieces measure 1453 x 888 x 5 mm and 1453 x 864 x 5 mm. They are attached to the wall by a spilt baton on the reverse, making them very easy to install. A sense of harmony is generated through the combination of different juxtapositions. The combination of straight and curved lines represents the fusion between rural and urban landscapes, which is the concept behind this work. There are further tensions and vibrations which undulate through the work. The colours stand in contrast to one another and draw attention to the materiality of the work which was further emphasised through digital manipulation. The continuation of the lines through the disjuncture, created by the cut, emphasises the rhythm generated from the undulating lines. The rhythm is further accentuated by the green line following the red curve as this is echoed in the colour of the electric yellow-green neon perspex.

I am a 26-year-old artist who has recently completed MA Fine Art Printmaking at Camberwell college of arts, part of the University of the Arts London. I am now starting to forge my career as an artist in London. My practice is formed by the essential dialogue between line, form and colour. Harmony is generated from the balance of different vibrations and tensions amongst these three elements. The dialogue echoes the variety of interpretations I produce from my surrounding environment. From the colour combinations of the physical environment to my thoughts and feelings when producing the work, there is no prescribed, set way I construct my work. I work intuitively with line, form and colour, allowing my visual influences in my conscious and subconscious mind to affect my aesthetic choices and the work I produce.
