Thrive like a cactus, learning from nature it’s a knowledge that’s being share generational in my family and many other communities has the same practice. A cactus that thrives to hard conditions still it’s sourced of endless inspiration. To be away of our surroundings and know how with echoes with other our actions. This is a large linocut and I’ve printed on a reeves bakery cream toned paper. On my relief carving practice its inspired by maestros the Mexican printmakers

I’m an immigrant printmaker/muralist originally from Oaxaca, Mexico based in Los Angeles. The aesthetic of my artwork refers to the traditional Mexican history of printmaking. My artwork is inspired by traditional stories from my elders, from where my holy characters were born and constantly evolving and growing to live in today’s times. They represent the autonomy of imagination that could be used to create another world that helps us challenge this system that gambles social justice.
