ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In the general mood of the work, there is the mystery and depth of a warm June evening. A girl is sitting in the grass, holding a jar of fireflies. She lets them go, allowing spots of light to fill the space.There is no single light source in the work, bright accents come from the jar and fireflies flickering around. Each depicted flower, as in the bouquets of the Middle Ages, has a special meaning and represents the inner world of the heroine. Her expression is calm and thoughtful, which contrasts with the lively but flowing twilight landscape around her.
