ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A feminist referencing to the bra - they are pretty amazing contraptions and quite beautiful, lustrous and making a collagraph print eased my frustrations of being addressed to my bust rather than my face - less wasteful than burning it?! Humour is essential. Collagraph, printed on recycled cotton rag paper, water based ink and a gold glaze, a dirty dozen edition of 12 - 9 available.

Rosie is inspired by light and life, her work can be broadly split into two - the figure and the landscape, although fleeting encounters with a scene or scenario also generates work Rosie produces. Helicoidal pattern within composition connects a lot of her work -the spiraling form of the universe, DNA, shells, surf, clouds, can be found in most of her work. Representation of the human form is an ongoing preoccupation - gender, the association of gender roles, femininity, sirens, has generated a large body of work in different media - drawing, ink, watercolour, and print. Rosie's prolific - she has a large portfolio of work, a lot of it can be seen on her website
