'La Pudicizia' - Limited edition giclée print: Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm quality archival cotton white paper using light-fast, pigment-based inks achieving the highest quality both in colour match and detailed reproduction of the original artwork. The print is an ultra-high resolution reproduction of my original artwork rendered in charcoal over watercolour wash and copper leaf and is based on Antonio Corradini's sculpture at the Cappella Sansevero (1752). La Pudicizia, or Modesty, forms the trio of artistic excellence of the Sansevero Chapel, canonised by travellers, guides and art historians since the 18th century. The monument is dedicated by Raimondo di Sangro to the memory of his “incomparable mother”, Cecilia Gaetani dell'Aquila d'Aragona, who died on December 26, 1710, when Raimondo was not yet one year old. The drawing strives to capture Corradini's elegant modelling of the drapery through a combination of loose stokes, detailed shading and chiaroscuro to draw the viewer's attention to the veil. ARTWORK INFORMATION * Signed by the artist with the title and edition number. Each print also comes with a Hahnemühle Certificate of authenticity with a serialised numbered hologram which corresponds to an identical hologram attached to the back of the print. * Edition Size: 50 * The print will be unmounted and unframed, wrapped in acid free tissue and delivered in a sturdy postal tube. Born in Birmingham and currently based in Worcester, UK, Andy has been a professional artist and illustrator ever since he learned that being a professional artist and illustrator was a lot easier than working. With a creative background that includes editorial illustration and design, Andy has worked for a diverse and eclectic range of clients over the years in both traditional and digital media; from piquant pin-ups to album artwork, book covers and greetings cards, his work has graced the pages of magazines and books as well as Barbie packaging where he regularly works with Mattel alongside Bob Mackie to illustrate box artwork for the signature Holiday Barbie range. His current work is a nostalgic (some would say ‘syrupy’) return to his fine art roots; working primarily in charcoal with an emphasis on figurative art and portraiture (and occasionally dabbling with watercolour), Andy focuses on conveying the character of the subject through the dynamic nature of the medium.
