This serigraph portrays Lilith, a mythological figure, known as the "night witch". Her story is based on a historic class of female demons originating from Jewish mysticism and Mesopotamian religion. She was a rebel! She might have been the first feminist in history; perhaps, the very first witch; the first sexually assertive woman; the first divorcee. The legend developed during the middle Ages, in the tradition of the Zohar, which originated the Kaballah in the Jewish mysticism. Lilith is an important inspiration. "A woman who exiled herself from paradise in search of nothing more than freedom." Lilith's legend continues to serve as e recurrent subject in modern culture, literature, occultism, fantasy, and horror. The technique utilized for this artwork is a hot stamp serigraphy with a very delicate dry relief, which is a detailed, time-consuming and unique approach to color and contrast.
