Loren Abbate is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, New York and attended Studio Art Centers International, Florence, Italy where she studied illustration and painting. Ms. Abbate has had a lengthy career teaching a variety of visual arts in both secondary schools and at the college level, including Naropa University, Boulder Colorado. As the result of her expertise in printmaking, the Art Center South Florida has recently awarded her a year long artist residency in Miami Beach. She currently teaches various printmaking techniques such as monoprinting, serigraph, intaglio and relief methods. She has also been an artist in residence at Art Print International in Barcelona, Spain, and has been awarded multiple scholarships to attend Anderson Ranch Art Center in Aspen Colorado. Her work has been exhibited internationally including Christies, NY, as well as numerous commercial galleries and institutions.
