About The Artwork
This etching was for a themed exhibition in Botanical Gardens of Dublin entitled ‘Another Bite Of The Cherry.’ From drawings I made in the gardens, I wanted to keep the theme of my own work going and that included animals although I must say here I had to use my imagination as in the Gardens I didn’t see any. This surprised me as I thought I’d see lots of insects, cats etc. So the theme of this print is the sleeping cat, only just visible missing his chance of a snack. It’s made with three plates to bring in the colour.
