This artwork, made in 2018, let Pierluigi Galli express one of the recurring themes of his art using primordial tools such as iron, fire and leather. The pyrograph, by engraving the hide, allowed the artist to free his inspiration, translating his “living natures” into a throbbing surface. Drawing on leather is a precise, complex, and time-consuming procedure, a laborious process that ensures every piece is a unique artwork. The support is a wooden piece. The processed goatskin is covered with a black leather passepartout, on which a gilding thread and a golden edge have been applied by hand. The back of the composition is made of marble paper.
