Limited edition print of my original neon of the same name, created especially for my 2019 Installation "The Sorry Stall" (March 2019, Brick Lane, The Other Art Fair presented by Saatchi Art). Signed and numbered Edition of 20 Archival giclee print printed on Hahnemuehle Torchon 285gsm paper (matt, textured). 69cm x 46cm inc 3cm black border all the way around PRINTS ARE 2D IMAGES WHICH DO NOT LIGHT UP. This is a limited edition 2D print of piece full of my own personal apologies, about wearing my shames, accepting my failures and errors and making the apologies public in an exercise in starting to try to fix my mistakes. The central triangle contains fake apologies/ sorrynotsorry type content which abounds in today's world (i.e. examples of meaningless apologies, so increasingly prevalent in an era of carefully curated social media feeds and perceptions) and the three red words around the outside of the triangle are three key elements of a genuine apology (the genuine apologies sit outside the confines of the triangle - the point being that they are not constrained and are "free" and real). I deliberately used similar imagery (triangle with words along each side) and colours (black, red and white) matching my 2015 neon with "power" on it in order to reflect the power of a genuine apology - both to the recipient and to the person making the apology. PRINTS ARE IMAGES ON PAPER WHICH DO NOT LIGHT UP. THE ORIGINAL NEON IS AVAILABLE FOR APPROX £5,000 - please contact Saatchi Art directly re queries on the neon original.

"Rebecca's work is an extraordinary mix of truth and beauty; she is able to engage her audience with brutal observations about life, love, money and culture with her simple, honest and often humorous interpretation of the modern world" (Laura Lea, curator) Rebecca Mason, often working under the pseudonym "Rococo Wonderland", is an artist using light to convey the darkness within human life, existence and emotion. This is often accompanied by a dry, self-deprecating sense of humour and candid confessions aimed at recognising and accepting our imperfections. Neon, with its seedy connotations and consumerist lure, is the brush she uses to create a gritty and simultaneously delicate world. Her inspiration is drawn from the exciting, chaotic playground of the city in which she lives. The living metropolis of London, with all its fears, questions and realisations emerge in her work via a duplicity of textual phrases and fragile luminosity. The aim is to encourage the viewer to engage, share her world and illuminations as well as identify a little of themselves and their own experiences in the work. The premise for each piece of work usually begins by referencing a feeling or event in her personal life, a micro moment in her existence which is then broadened to reflect the theme on a macro, collective, basis.
