About The Artwork

A limited edition print from an original oil painting. Canvas print also available. Mystic From the first day he entered our home (after likely being bounced from the back of a Gypsy wagon, from the looks of him), we knew he was gifted – a seer. His long silences and penetrating stare revealing a deep inner knowing. A zen-like wisdom that we hoped to be the recipients of. We pay our homage through comfort and kibbles. With bottomless tuna buffets and a devotion to maintain his lifelong hermitage. However, though Mystic is perpetually on the verge of speaking The Great Truth that our souls yearn for, it appears that his teachings are to be transmitted in silence – like the profound sage that he is – allowing us to reach our own conclusions on the meaning and folly of life.

About the Artist Award-winning oil painter Paul Bond was born in 1964 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and currently lives and works in Southern California and Costa Rica. Paul Bond's art lives in the spaces between dreaming and reality. Drawing from the Latin American genre of Magic Realism, his paintings merge symbolic, surreal and fantastic elements with realistic atmospheres to unveil a world where everything is possible. At times, they simply express a whimsical aspect of life. Yet most works also carry deeper metaphysical and philosophical messages illuminating the world of our dreams and subconscious thoughts, fears and hopes. Bond’s work has won numerous awards and been featured in galleries, museums and cultural centers, including The Gateway Museum and The San Diego Art Institute. His paintings are now in private collections throughout the US, and worldwide. Corporate collections include Fox, Warner Bros and NBC Studios, Royal Caribbean International, Marriott Hotels, Scripps and Stanford Hospitals; and his works are featured in numerous contemporary art publications.
