About The Artwork
This work is a part of a series that is using text as a tool/medium. A series constists from 3 different artworks/prints with similar texts which are defined in a way that each one embodies a certain moment in time (past, present, future). The cutout texts cast it's own shadows, but the thrown texts can be read as a new sentence which is composed of the first words of each individual sentence. The cutouts and it’s shadows thus create different contexts, therefore a conversation or a dialogue between the two opposing views is established. The question reminiscent of a conscious and favorable withdrawal from the problem, merges with the shadow or an answer that of a materialist logic, that is, the endless search for fulfillment of materialistic desires/ requirements and comfort.
