The work is inspired by the flow and change of a river flowing in a wood landscape. I hope you will feel a sympathy with the ever changing nature and power of water. The form, colour, tone and texture for the image is evocative of how I see the world around me.

Born in Scotland, Rosie Lucas is profoundly inspired by nature and colour in creating her abstract landscape paintings, washes and prints, which offer a rich palette of hues and forms. The organic shapes of mountains, rivers, and forests and classical music pieces, such as Vivaldi's Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 8, RV 315, "Summer", provide a foundation for her abstract interpretations and infuse her work with dynamic contrasts. These elements allow her to transcend literal representation, reflecting her deep connection to the natural world. Rosie's studio, located in Scotland, is a lovingly renovated space that was once her father's sculpture and wood carving workshop. Surrounded by his tools, she finds constant inspiration and a deep sense of joy and creativity in the familiar environment.
