SONORA is the name of the witchcraft market in the heart of Mexico City. The design incorporates the themes of beauty, nature, decay and death.

Four lino plates were carved in the process.

The impressions were printed wet on wet, in four shades of green. As the inks built up, the final dark colour sat on top of the previous layers to create a beautiful antique, mottled effect.

I am an English graphic artist. I was born and raised near Liverpool, and studied (BA) Graphic Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. I began linocut printing in 2015 after a hiatus since my school days, having come across an opportunity by chance while living in Mexico. Linocut and woodcut have a huge tradition and contemporary scene there. Over the last few years I have worked in several workshops in the Mexico City, as well as in Oaxaca and Veracruz. At present I am looking for a place to establish a workshop and artists' residence in Spain.
