The Self Scape I-IV Series include works that read as landscapes: of self (myself), as opposed to external content. The series is comprised of four original prints, as I do not believe any snapshot of one's interior self could ever be identical to shots that came before it. And this is not because I believe that God's image of us is in a state of flux—in fact, I would argue the opposite: that He sees us (our internal, true selves) now in the very same form as He saw us a decade (or more) ago. But the angles, the perspectives through which we may glimpse at ourselves do indeed change by the second. If locating and standing firm in the confidence of our truest identities were easy, I don't think that there would exist those surge-through-the-chest moments when we feel elated to know exactly who and why we are. We get glimpses—I, II, III, IV...—because we need to remember how to see ourselves, unchanged as far as our truest identity is concerned, through an ever-changing, external world.
