My work is informed by the principles of Systems and Concrete art, and by the explorations of British geometricists such as Bridget Riley and Michael Kidner. I follow an ‘algorithmic’ approach in which a set of parameters (or ‘internal rules’) is set out for the designing and making processes. Current practice explores sequences of sine waves that interact and progress in predetermined ways, experimenting with wavelength, amplitude, phasing, colour juxtaposition and tone to suggest forms, textures, optical effects and an interplay of geometry
