ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A re-imagining of Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper“ by Dent-de-Lion du Midi. ... Leonardo painted this masterpiece on the wall of the dining room in the refectory of the former Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. It is a huge painting, 4.60m by 8.80m, done in tempera and oil on a gypsum preparation, instead of the standard fresco technique commonly used in this era. It has not stood the test of time very well. Even before it was finished there were problems with the paint flaking off from the wall. Over the years it has crumbled, been vandalised, bombed in wartime, and recently lovingly restored. We offer here a superior Giclée fine art print, as close to the original as possible... which begs the question: exactly what happened at The Long Table? ... An original Series One print. Series One prints feature our original artworks realised on exquisite Hahnemühle "German Etching" paper (300gm²) with handcrafted deckle edges. Each Reimagine Art Series One print is unique and one-of-a kind, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). They are the finest museum quality archival prints available.
