A modern limited edition tree print, inspired by the great city of London and one of Aesop’s fables. This wall art print depicts elements referencing London’s rich history. This contemporary tree is populated by fantastical birds and insects, and embellished with colourful flora and fauna. The Fox and the Stork Aesop’s fable: A fox invites the stork to eat with him and provides soup in a bowl, which the fox can lap up easily; however, the stork cannot drink it with its beak. The stork then invites the fox to a meal, which is served in a narrow-necked vessel. It is easy for the stork to access but impossible for the fox. The moral drawn is that the trickster must expect trickery in return and that the golden rule of conduct is for one to do to others what one would wish for oneself. Nature has always been really important to Kristjana. The Icelandic nature is really harsh and unforgiving, it is very stark with lots of blacks, whites and greys. The landscape is bare with trees or bushes only growing in a few locations. The colourful flora and fauna and massive trees, in other parts of the world is a great inspiration, and Kristjana enjoys playing with colours in her work, the colours in the nature elements bring a piece to life.
