Turbine, soft wax and etching, print on Magnani Di Pescia paper gr 310 70x50 cm, slab 46.7x32.2 cm, 6/12/2020, by Giovanni Gabassi From a photo taken in Via Zanon in Udine, I took a cue for "spatial digressions". Using a soft pencil, I drew the subject. I superimposed the hypothetical trajectories of flying bodies swept by a whirlwind with a geometric design. The overlap is manifested in the urban widening. With cinchona and water I darkened some parts of the crown of the tree that rises to a pin for the turbine .. Everything was translated with a soft varnish on a plate and then printed on Magnani Di Pescia gr 310 paper in a 70x50 cm sheet, The trajectories draw a volume full of centrifugal force. An ataraxia. Thought before action.

Giovanni Gabassi, after attending the Art Institute Sello Giovanni in Udine, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. In his works reveals his vision of the contemporary world, he wants to develop all the connections, more or less perceptible at the inner and outer reality. For this love juxtaposing images, creating links, reveal relationships. It is expressed with different techniques and his is a continuous search for new areas and new ways of expression. Loves to pull the latest technology with traditional pictorial and graphic designers. Uses photography, but I spoke with retinal texture almost to emerge from reality its substratum of rules (social and psychological) that characterize it. He has had several solo and group (in Udine, Belluno, L'Aquila, Venice, Cannes, Salzburg, Genova, Miami, Soho N.Y.C.), but has also worked illustration of plays.
