About The Artwork
The Vestment Series Dress originally was just a sewing pattern tissue paper monotype framed on a mannequin. The provenance of exhibition for the paper version ranged from Santa Monica Bergamot Station Galleries to Merced Cultural Arts Center in California. As presented in my Chinatown LA studio, many guests would take selfies behind the mannequin, claiming it fir their costume. So, I collaborated with fashion designers working with artists in LA to construct this Limited Edition of the paper monotype in silk. Each dress is signed and numbered individually and is a replica of the paper original - including the “Gold” of the gold leaf.
