The first of the silk screen series 2017 from Marius D. Kettler is a limited edition, 30 prints per motive. Three motives, titled: Rot (red), Gelb (yellow) and Weiß (white). These prints are hand made silkscreens based on five colors, layered in diverse coats. The radient day glow paint is self produced with finest pigments. Each print is almost an original, due to the fact that the screen allows the paint when printing to react in diverse ways. When viewing the print in original there are many subtle details to discover. The motives are inspired from Kettler`s Farbraume (color rooms): paintings and interactive sound/room installation based on this radient colorsceme. The complete paper format is 70 x 100 cm , the size of the printed motive is about 55,5 x 70,5 cm, on the back side of the print is the original signature and number.

Marius D. Kettler (b.1961) is a painter, composer sound and video artist, who lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Kettler works thematically, for his sound installations and multi channel sound/music compositions. Experimenting with spatial environments, artificial or natural, investigating the physical aspect of sound, acoustic transparency and site specific, interactive sound transmission. The sound installations vary from combined multi channel compositions presented in the form of sound/paintings where the surface of the canvas functions as the speaker. Other sound installations are sculptural interactive large format installations, either, electromagnetic, seismographic, mechanical or hybrid works. Visual and acoustic space is configured with maximal simplicity. The compositions are recorded with instruments, mechanical sounds and electro noise, the digitally processed material is then transformed into multi channel or mono sound installations. Field recordings include : natural sounds, industrial cites, sounds from rural and urban areas. He investigates the origin and boundaries of sound, where the sensory characteristics of memory and association influence the perceptive moment. The series of paintings that are titled Color rooms are works, acrylic paint on canvas, utilizing day glow fluorescent color pigments. Examining the contrasts and similarities of color that correlates and lead to color congruity, parallel the non contrasts become color sensations. Experimenting with the interaction of surfaces where ordinary paint pigments on plane surfaces interact with the pigments of day glow paint. In these works vibrant color rooms originate from surfaces, structures and patterns, creating an abstract perspective through the interaction of color and light. The exploration of color, the creation of surfaces and structures with a glowing color impact and depth, resulting with an additional intense three dimensional quality.
