Born in Berkeley, CA - 1959 - studied art in public school from the age of 12 through private college working in standard mediums (paper mache, watercolor, pen and ink, pastels, charcoal, acrylic, oil). Heavily influenced by abstract expression, surrealism and post modern movements. Moved to Los Angeles in the mid 80's and began working exclusively in acrylic on canvas with little success. Breakthrough: Discovered "paint box" technology on AMIGA PC's in 1989 and began experimenting with video art. Began working extensively with PS on Mac's in the mid 90's. Commenced printing on canvas period in late 90's in Emeryville, Ca. Moved to Venice, CA and developed unique abstract style of digital painting - with filtering, hand painting, repeated twisting, tearing, layering, lighting and over-layering techniques. Over 500 completed works. Currently resides in Newport Beach, CA. People ask me "How long does it take to make one of your pieces?" I say - "How long does it take to make a chocolate bar - if you take into account having the proper equipment, gathering the right ingredients, having the know how and creating the proper conditions? 20 minutes? An hour? A day? A week? A lifetime?"
