My heart inhabits the purity of water, inside a mirror which reflects the moon's - Jalal Al-Din Al Rumi. The designs for this set of panels was based on traditional Geometric Islamic patterns which I saw in Alhambra palace, Granada. Such magnificence. Each star is then surrounded by calligraphy of a sentence from the Holy Quran in Kufic and Diwani styles. I am happy to provide more information of each caption and its translation. The panels are made in contemporary kiln techniques mainly slumping and fusing in several stages. The textures can be felt in the front and back of each panel. The glass is Bullseye glass crystal clear, Cranberry Pink- gold bearing colour- and Gold purple as well as some Dichroic glass. The results are sparkling, shimmering panels with multiple forms reflecting an aesthetic, spiritual and symbolic meaning, aspiring to create an atmosphere of meditative tranquility. The frames are simple 5 x5 cm pine with dark stain which present but do not retract from the glass itself. The photographs do not do justice to the beauty, commitment, skill and experience it took to make such unique pieces of art. Hanging is best in front of a natural light source, some collectors decide to fit in light boxes or within the architecture of a building. The shipping description is for each panel so it needs to be multiplied x 3
