Abundance Sculpture

Recycled materials were used for this work. The entire shape of the bouquet is bas-relief, assembled from the pieces that I collected on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Broken pieces of bottles, which were punched on the details in the form of weeds. A tree washed with water. Rough shapes of granite stones. For the crystals, I used whole bottles, which I broke and baked several times in the oven to get the right shape. My idea was to depict a lush, baroque bouquet of seemingly incompatible details. In this work I address the environmental aspect, with yet another way of glass recycling. The oval shape is made of thin 3mm tiles with grout. Most of the work is about 4 cm (1.6 inch) in depth, with outstanding parts about 6 cm (2.4 inches). The base of the work is made of OSB board with reinforced expanded polystyrene center layer, covered with mosaic.
