" Adapt or Die " Sculpture

This sculpture is made using stoneware clay and painted using underglazes and fired with a transparent glaze. The piece is speaking about the human condition of 'survival', where we reach that critical moment where something has to change or we just give in to the circumstance and allow fate to determine the outcome. Our natural inclination as humans is to 'survive' at all costs. Often pain and hardship push us into a corner where there is no option but to "jump out of the sinking boat"....that's if one can ! This is an original creation that developed intuitively in response to my own personal situation...possibly because of the Covid 19 pandemic that has pushed many of us artists into "survival mode". The theme of this piece is depicted in a light hearted, whimsical manner but yet holds a weighty sentiment.
