I wanted to do another elephant sculpture, but as with all my work, I wanted it to be different and moving away from 'classic' poses. I was inspired by a photograph of an old bull elephant that was so large he didn't need to stand on his hind legs to reach the canopy above. He just stretched. It looked like a yoga pose! I then added the mother and baby, as I think it makes a really interesting and slightly quirky composition.
This is a work in progress - as I am still in Lockdown in South Africa, so this sculpture is still in wax, and will be delivered to the foundry in June when it opens up.

This will be a limited series of , signed and numbered.
