About The Artwork
This life size substantially built sculpture captures your imagination. Inspired by the fragility of human life. Bare feet symbolizing the vulnerability of one's physical body. Disappearance into our surroundings. What's left is all but memory. Mild Steel has been chosen as the medium for its unmoving strength. "Almost a Memory" was constructed by meticulously welding thousands of steel pieces together to form the structure. Countless hours then go into the process of fill welding and manipulating the structure’s surface. No casting or molds are used in my work. Installation includes a 24" x 24" x 2" concrete base plate. I trust that this sculpture will give it’s audience an opportunity to wonder, question and fill in their own story.

To bridge the conceptual realm to the material world. To achieve this I use stainless steel and mild steel because of their unmoving strength. I focus on the fortitude, power and beauty of the human form. Constructing a sculpture allows me to express what words cannot.
