This piece is an experiment in combining the techniques used in my light-sculptures to produce a functional object. In this case, I added white tail deer antlers to be used as coat hooks for a residency in Chicago. The antlers are positioned at the center of a mirror circle that is haloed by routed-out groves back-lit with LEDS. The effect creates an illusion that the full anter-rack exists within the wall. This 'Hall Tree' is sold...but the idea is available for discussion, revision, and expansion. Don't be shy. Contact me.

Trevor O'Neil is best known for his furniture, object, and lighting designs that push the limits of convention. For the past two decades, his focus remained centered on the designed object world experimenting with any and all materials available to man. His use of cork as a structure material has heavily influenced the furniture design world (see his cork sofa) and his imaginative lighting has earned him accolades and awards across the globe. Through years of experimenting with materials both manufactured and developed by him, O'Neil accumulated a vast amount of abstract material creations and know-how. And, within the last several years, his fascination with the beauty of these materials drew his attention away from the objects they were intended for, becoming the new, central focus of his work.
