Paola Maccioni is an Italian contemporary artist working exclusively with hand-embossed aluminum. Through a slow and entirely manual process, she transforms thin industrial sheets into sculptural surfaces where light, tension and depth become active elements. Working only with rounded-tipped burins and without mechanical force, her practice reinterprets metal embossing through a contemporary, minimal language. Each work emerges from calibrated pressure, generating forms that oscillate between presence and absence. Her research investigates transformation, material resistance and the emergence of form from within the surface.
