About The Artwork

There's a birth that changes course of time the universe is pure light pulsating tiny sparkles This artwork is about creation, a birth of a universe, sun energy, emanations, movement of light, star bursts and beauty of this world and all possible others. I used a cement/grout plate that I built for my baby sun surface. It has craters and roughness around it, I painted them with acrylic. I crocheted some shapes with acrylic, I took them apart, I put it all back together, I took it apart again, rebuilt it again. I knitted sunrays from chiffon. Final assembly included building circular shapes suggesting expansion from manipulated paper and textiles, covered with knitted surfaces, embellished with handmade sequins and beads. More surface painting completes this artwork. The weight of the piece is roughly five pounds. Equipped with hanging wire.

Poetry, music, rebellion, femininity, humour and wonder of my world reveal themselves in images, both soft and hard, always mysterious, always in layers of meaning. My stories emerge like flowers opening up their petals, one at a time, as I try to bring to light all the facets of a certain moment in time, of a beautiful memory. But in the end, or in the beginning, it's all about love. I explore painting as a connection to our human vulnerability, of which love is its ultimate manifestation. https://www.instagram.com/gone_with_chinook/
