His work uses an unconventional medium - toy balls - because it’s okay to not take life too seriously. His balls are combined into gradient patterns, painted with pastel colors and soft finishes. The balls appear to expand out of one another creating hypnotic works that induce playfulness and joy. Kolodny gives a wake up call to never forget our inner child, and remind you, It’s okay to not take life too seriously. Shawn Kolodny (born 1971) is an American artist, living and working in Miami, Florida. Kolodny received his Bachelor of Industrial Design from Syracuse University in 1994 and his MBA from Stern School of Business in 2010.
